Obituary of Richard David ~ 2008
Longtime Homer resident, Richard David, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday,
Sept. 13, 2008.
Richard was born in Chicago, IL. on Feb. 26, 1943. He grew up in Calif. where he started
to work at the age of 13. After graduating, he went on to become a police officer for
California State University, Stanislaus, and official Range Master for the Department.
On moving to Homer in 1979, Richard was employed by Seward fisheries and subsequently
hired by the city of Homer as Harbormaster for the Port. He retired after 20 years of
service to spend more time with the three things he loved most; his family, his dogs,
Richard is survived by his wife, Norma aka “the little woman”, his children and their
spouses; Nancy and Clint Rockett, Mike and Holly Homan, Jeff Homan, Michelle David,
Robert David and his four beautiful granddaughters; Nicole White, Jordan and Kendra
Raymond and Taylor Holman.
